Air Cargo Handling Operation

Air Cargo Handling Operation entails the preparation, processing of cargo shipments, loading and unloading of aircraft, and the transfer of cargo between storage facilities and land transport.

It is necessary to provide cold rooms for perishable cargoes and strong room for valuable cargoes. More so, special storage area for dangerous goods (DGR) before loading into aircraft.
 For inbound cargo: The preparation commences from the unloading of the aircraft, customs and other regulatory procedures, as well as deconsolidation (separation of consolidated goods into individual consignments). More so, it is necessary to provide X-ray scanners for cargo inspection. The storage of cargoes is also done for inbound shipments before clearing from the warehouse by agents of consignees or the consignees themselves. 
Transshipment Cargo: The operation is generally limited to unloading, reconsolidating, and reloading the cargo but can be as simple as a direct transfer between aircraft.
