CARGO SYSTEMS OFFICER (EK) Emirates- Dubai

JOB SCOPE ·Identify new functional requirements and enhancements to existing systems that are needed to support global Cargo Operations and the profitable growth of Emirates cargo operations. These requirements are to be developed and elaborated in coordination with the users, and the software development service provider to ensure the business need is met in accordance with standard business system development methodology. ·Update all relevant Cargo documentation manuals with new system developments and enhancements, and ensure policy and procedures are documented by the relevant business unit and disseminated to all users. ·Ensure training sessions are provided for all users of newly implemented or enhanced systems staff to guarantee that systems are effectively implemented and will achieve the required organisational outcome. ·Conduct User Acceptance testing on systems developed in accordance with SkyCargo System team UAT methodologies. ·Participate in prioritisation sessions with SkyCargo Systems team management to ensure the work of the group is directed to the most important requirements of the business. ·Regularly audit and assess role groups of users of the differing Cargo Systems and maintain access controls and system masters to ensure the system is distributed and functioning according to user needs and flexibility. ·Support the first level trouble shooting desk to assist and guide users on system user problems and resetting locked records. ·Research, identify , develop and provide mandatory functionality in Cargo Systems to provide information sought by various regulatory bodies like customs authorities to ensure EK is in conformance with defined compliance requirements. ·Analyse and liaise with Legal, under the guidance of the manager, to develop and implement contractual agreements with all the external system service providers to ensure EK interests are not compromised and service providers are obliged to provide continuous service to EK for conducting trading. ·Audit network wide usage of automated systems and identify staff, stations that are not using automated systems to its potential. Agree with Cargo Commercial managers and the local station management, development programmes and monitor progress, to ensure Emirates SkyCargo gets the return on investment on the various systems implemented. ·Liaise with the outstations, Standards and Procedures and Procurement to ensure that all elements related to electronic transfer of shipment information from the Ground Handling Agents systems to Emirates Cargo Systems are clearly indicated in the Ground Handling Contracts. Once implemented monitor the actions of the GHAs and other service providers to achieve proper use of the systems and that expected efficiencies and reduction of resource costs are achieved. ·Provide accurate and informed information on ecommerce and the use of ecommerce. Support the initiatives to adopt a paperfree operating model within SkyCargo.

Qualifications & Experience Experience and Qualifications: ·University Degree, preferably computer science. 2 years experience in the logistics, air cargo field. ·Comprehensive technical knowledge of the cargo industry, EDI , Internet/web technology. Knowledge of Cargo IMP messages, protocols and customs systems requirements preferable. · Good presentation skills preferable. Computer literate with the ability to understand and communicate the functional I.T. requirements and specifications of end users to development and technical Engineers. ·Good analytical ability to conduct message exchange testing between systems and awareness of data elements and their implications in systems preferable....
